WHY DID YOU BECOME A LEGAL RECRUITER?

I started Parachute after years of practicing as an M&A associate in BigLaw. What I realized when I made my own lateral move is that most legal recruiters haven’t actually set foot in that world. They haven’t had to personally decide whether a lateral move is smart or just shiny. They haven’t felt the pressure of choosing between partnership track or peace of mind.

I'd pulled the all nighters and made a lateral move while trying to manage the deals I was working on. And I know how stressful it was. My experience made me understand how much working with a good legal recruiter matters.

I built Parachute as a legal recruiting agency led by someone who's actually been on the other side, while also understanding that most attorneys have no idea how the recruiting process works (I definitely didn't). I've been in BigLaw and I know how much finding the right fit matters. And I understand that when you find a firm that truly aligns with your goals, your entire career trajectory changes—and finding that for my clients is my greatest success.

WAIT, YOU LEFT BIGLAW AND DECIDED TO... HELP OTHER PEOPLE LEAVE BIGLAW?

Not to leave — just to land better. When I went through my own lateral move, I found that many recruiters weren’t truly listening to my goals or focused on whether the firm they were pitching was the right long-term fit. And I quickly realized my experience wasn’t unique.

That process made me want to recruit differently. My goal is to help attorneys build smarter, more intentional careers. For me, a placement isn’t a win unless it advances the attorney’s career trajectory and aligns with the firm’s needs.

WHAT TYPES OF FIRMS DO YOU WORK WITH?

All kinds — I work with BigLaw firms, mid-sized firms, and boutiques. I don't think firms are one size fits all, and I strongly believe in finding the right fit based on an attorney's long-term goals.

I also don’t believe in prestige for prestige’s sake, and I don’t think you should have to either.
